Blouse and Shoes-Mr.Price/Shorts-Zara/Bag-Celine/Bracelets-Sass Diva
I finally got to wear this adorable blouse from Mr.Price, I bought it a while ago and was just waiting for the perfect summer's day to pull it out of my closet. I absolutely love the soft pink tone combined with the greyish pattern, and the shorts seemed to match perfectly with the studded flats. I'm also wearing my Christmas present-my new Celine bag, I LOVE it-it's the perfect shape and the colour is so rich and beautiful. I can't wait for winter to match it with thick knits and all the darker colour shades :)
Thank you to everyone who made such supportive comments after my last post. They are all very much appreciated.
Today is a stormy one here so I'm likely not getting out of my pjs, so I thought I'd do a 2012 outfit retrospective like some other bloggers have done. I'm amazed at the difference a year can make.
I'm just going to post my favourite outfit (or two) from each month.
January
I picked this as my favourite because I knit the sweater and because of these awesome shoes. I certainly didn't pick it for the sullen face I'm making here.
February
Funky optical illusion dress! Why have I only worn this once? Obviously I'm not in my right mind. I should be wearing this ALL THE TIME!
March
Crazy cat portrait dress and funky Fluevogs. Of course this is a favourite!
April
Starting to play with shorter skirt lengths but also looking for divine intervention.
May
In May I turned 41 and it wasn't a great outfit month for me. I do like this though. Plaid skirt, blue shoes again. For some reason the bodice of this dress feels a little "Starfleet" to me. Or a little Ace Frehley. But in a good way.
June
In June I went to Winnipeg and wore this to a meeting. I'm so glad I shortened this dress. This is one of the few photos in June where I'm smiling.
July
Dress from the store Pretty Things Boutique which is now tragically closed. Nice bright summer outfit. August
Yes you CAN-CAN-CAN! Wore this to a wedding shower. It was the most humid day of the year so this cotton dress was mostly comfortable (other than the tulle but I endured).
September
I pick these two because I'm starting to get my mojo back. I'm actually smiling and looking at the camera and being a little bit cheeky. I also started losing weight and was feeling confident in myself again. And those blue shoes! Love them. Can't wait for Summer so I can wear them again.
October
Another "2-fer". I love this art deco dress that I got at the consignment store though here I wasn't confident enough to wear it without something underneath it yet. I was also chuffed to finally fit into this blue dress.
November
I love the romantic look of this - especially these shoes. It's awesome to know good people who look out for my shoe needs too.
December
Mondrian dress! Of course I was going to pick this. But I could have also picked this.
.... and on to 2013. What will the new year hold? Only good things, I hope.
Happy New Year to everyone. Thanks for visiting my blog and joining me on this journey.
Hello! I am back from my holidays and back at work. I went in today and there were only 5 of us in and it was so very quiet. Too quiet so the day just dragged and dragged. Luckily it's Friday so it's not like I have to go in again tomorrow.
Christmas was pretty low key this year. I don't talk about personal stuff much on here so I haven't mentioned on the blog that my husband and I separated four months ago at my request. It hasn't been an easy transition since we were together for 17 years but I'm feeling happier. I think you can see it in my photos taken since September.
T-shirt: Smoking Lily Hama Hama Top (bought in Ottawa earlier this year) Skirt: Smoking Lily (gift from my mother) Shoes: Fluevog Truths | Marina (no longer available)
My mother bought me this skirt and the maple key design is an almost perfect match in colour to the t-shirt.
Looking at these pictures I'm very patterned today with the octopus on the shirt, the print on the skirt and my tattoos....
....but from the back, it's a blank slate. No patterns, no prints, no tats.
I've only worn these shoes a few times, and never to work. I like their pointy toes which appeal to the 1980s girl in me.
My sister gave me this bracelet for Christmas. It's Manet's "Rendevous of cats".
Paisley Printed Blouse and Shorts- Mr.Price/Bag-Steve Madden/Pumps- Mr.Price/Bracelet-Hermes
Hello Everyone, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
I've loved seeing how so many outfits lately consist of 'matching' pieces, there's something that seems so chic and clean that appeals to me! This paisley printed blouse and the matching shorts definitely did the trick for me, I adore how they look combined and I loved how the shorts seem to be a little bit lighter than the blouse. It was such an easy outfit to wear too, and when the weather got a bit chilly in the afternoon- all it took to make the outfit more 'fitting' was my favourite black cardigan, the longer length of the knit always seems to transport any outfit from a hot sunny day to the cooler afternoons :)
Shirt-Mr.Price/Pants-Country Road/Bag- Louis Vuitton/Bracelet-Hermes/Shoes-Mr.Price
Wearing this shirt makes me feel like I'm visiting a tropical Island, what with the colours and the floral prints-it instantly transports you to that place :) I paired it with these nude coloured pants, which I love too-I bought them a size up so they can be a bit baggy, and these lovely slippers which have tiny stars cut out of them- such a cute touch!
Vest-Country Road/ Tee- Country Road/Shorts-Mr.Price/Bag-Louis Vuitton/Shoes-Converse/Bracelet-Hermes/Rings-Woolworths
I think this might be one of my all time favourite outfits yet, I absolutely adore this vest! The oversized look, the colour- everything about it is gorgeous. And the combination of the casual Converse paired with it, is stunning. I'm also loving baggy tee's at the moment, so this one definitely appealed to me, I adore the grey tone :)
