Oversized Pink Blazer

Blazer-Cotton On/ Flats- Mr.Price/Accessories-Woolworths
I Wasn't completely sold when I first saw this blazer, the fit wasn't something I was used to! But after mulling over it for a few days, I headed back to the store and bought it! I think it will look great in summer paired over shorts and a white T or even over a feminine dress. In this look, I decided to pair it with some cobalt blue accessories to contrast the colours.

Have a lovely day everyone!!

Off-site failure

Today I spent the day at another office conducting data tests. Basically a warehouse is being made of our client data and we have to run queries and do cross-tabulations to see if we can identify any bugs. Amazingly, we (me and a coworker) found some! One was a fairly big thing that luckily the coders fixed quickly. I have to go back tomorrow and Thursday morning.

I had to try and find a place to take my photo where I wouldn't be discovered and have people think I'm a freak. I wasn't very successful in finding a place with good light though so the photo is kinda crappy.

Necklace: gift from my boss from China
Jacket: Joe Fresh
Blouse: Some store in Paris
Belt: H&M
Pants: Lilith in NYC
Shoes: Fluevog Rivers

I kind of hated this outfit and I think it's time to admit that this top is not a keeper. It's supposed to be big but I feel like I'm constantly pulling it up.

I belted it because I hoped it would keep me from looking huge but I think it did the opposite.

I came home and changed before going to the grocery store because I was so uncomfortable.

Do you ever have totally outfit failures where you can't wait to take off?

And you may ask yourself, why is your dress so large?

Thank you all for your kind words about my sweet Jetta girl. We're missing her terribly. =(

I found this Marimekko dress at my favourite used clothing store, Elsie's, last Friday. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry so I didn't take the time to try it on. If I had, I would have realized that it's quite big.

Dress: Marimekko
Necklace: Meow
Belt: H&M
Shoes: Marc from Kick Ass Shoes

(Isn't Kick Ass Shoes the best name for a store?)

This dress has been re-hemmed so I'm guessing it used to be a lot longer. I think this length is fine but the width is a bit too big on me. You can really tell by looking at the extra fabric under the arm.

I could probably have it altered but I'm not sure I like it enough to bother.

I do love the really big pockets on the front though. Maybe I can try to do a slap-dash alteration.

I added this Edgar Allan Poe brooch because Edgar's greenish hue matches the dress quite well.

OOTD- Pastel Skirt

 Skirt-Forever New/Jersey-Zara/ Rings- Accessorize & Mr.Price/Bracelet-Mr.Price
Today I decided to wear my Forever New skirt (Which I've posted about before) with my new Zara sweater. I love the finished look, the slouchiness of the sweater combined with dipped hem made the whole outfit feel somewhat romantic and 'girly'. A look which I've always had a soft spot for:) This jersey is definitely going to be making a reappearance soon, it's one of my favourites! And I love how the front is a little shorter than the back, yet it still holds a lovely shape!

Have a lovely day everyone!!

Jetta, Boo-girl, Little One

Jetta
???? - May 5, 2012

I adoped Jetta in April 2008 from a local shelter. They guessed that she was about 10 but couldn't be sure. She was a stray that had been with them for a while since no one wants older cats so they gave her to me for nothing.

Over the years she has been through a lot - a benign tumour on her mammary gland, a few tooth extractions and finally what we believe was lymphoma in her intestines. After losing half her body weight in 3 weeks it was time to let her go.

I'll miss you my little one, my boo-boo, my boo-girl. I'll miss your high fives, your meow that sounded like Selma from the Simpsons, and your love of chicken. We were lucky to have you in our lives.

Speckled Knit

 Speckled Jumper- Mr.Price/Jeans- Edgars/ Wedges-Country Road/Bag- Steve Madden/ Cuff-Cotton On
I love this knit so much, in fact I might even have bought it in another colour because I love it that much haha:) The fit is perfect, and I adore the speckled black and white colour! I opted for an all black outfit otherwise; plain black pumps, jeans and bag so that the top may be the main focus. And my new cuff has quickly become a favourite of mine, I adore the gold and white combination!

Have a lovely weekend everyone!!

Connect the dots

First off, a big shout out to my West Coast style twin Sheila for her "under the desk" shot in her blog post on Thursday. I know that this is going to be the next big internet meme. You Rock!

(I'm feeling much more like myself now and am very glad today is/was Friday.)

Today I did some pattern mixing.

Sweater: Pretty Things Boutique
Tunic/Dress: americanretro (from Crimson and Clover)
Skirt: Guess by Marciano from Las Vegas
Shoes: Fluevog Operetta | Fiorenza

Originally I was just going to wear the tunic with the tights but it was much too short for my comfort level. I had also planned to wear a different sweater, closer in colour to my shoes but I liked how the polka dots went with the tunic pattern.

I bought this skirt in Las Vegas a few years ago and I'm never totally warmed up to it because the under layer is "flesh" tone rather than black. I might look into how to fix it either by just cutting it off and wearing the tulle with a black slip underneath it.

I haven't worn these shoes in way too long. Probably since I had this photo taken over two years ago. I need to put them into the shoe rotation more frequently than that!

I bought these in the Toronto store, I think in 2009. I had wanted them in orange but they didn't have my size so I went for the turquoise. Just as pretty!
