Another week is winding down. For the last week I've been craving spaghetti and meatballs so tonight guess what I had for supper? Om nom nom.
Here's the outfits from the last 3 days. I can't believe July is almost over.
July 23
Dress: Meg (last worn July 3)
Shoes: Fluevog Hopefuls | Assured (on sale!)
Yup, this is still my favourite dress. Bright colour, nice cut, pockets...what's not to love?
I may have accidentally bought these shoes last week. I was walking to the drug store and the next thing I knew, I was leaving the Fluevog store with a bag.
My favourite thing about them are the blue soles. You can't really see them here but take my word for it, they're blue.
The buckles tend to jingle when I walk. I pretend I'm a cowboy and they are my spurs.
July 24
I bought this dress in Guelph last weekend.
Dress: Desigual
Belt: Rudsak
Shoes: Fluevog Presence | Impulse
The skirt has a shiney red design on it which you can't see but I thought my shiney bronze shoes would look good with it.
I bought these shoes on my birthday. I've worn them a few times but I guess this is the first time on the blog.
I really like the skirt part of this dress but the top is kinda boring.
I kept futzing around with the belt all day. So annoying!
Whoops! My tag has come up for air!
July 25
The weather has been cooler this week so I broke out the man made fabrics.
Dress: H&M (last worn here)
Shoes: Fluevog Miracles | Medugorje
I bought this dress for $10.00 and it was very popular with my coworkers. Someone called it "spectacular". That was kinda nice.
It is pretty awesome. I guess that's why I've hung onto it even though I haven't worn it for almost a year. That's kinda crazy.
Tomorrow night I'm going out with a friend. Tonight I'm tackling my ironing basket. Good night everyone!

OMG you GUYS!!!!
Look what I found!
A Zandra Rhodes silk dress! WHOOOOOOO!!
It's not zany like some of her other dresses but it has shells on it. Reminds me of my Atlantic Canada life.
and a pretty ruffle on the top. For $70!
I'm pretty chuffed!
My apartment is drying out and today I went to Canadian Tire (a hardware store that is a Canadian institution) and bought some plastic bins to put my shoes in. I'm having my carpet cleaned on Tuesday because my place smells like a swamp but after my apartment gets back to normal I'll be much more confident about putting them back under my bed.
Only one pair is truly ruined and they were not very expensive so I'm thanking my lucky stars.
Here's what I wore on Friday.
Blouse: Love Charles Vintage
Skirt: H&M
Shoes: House of Harlow 1960 (from Gilt)
I saw these shoes at Hudson's Bay a few weeks ago and loved them so very much but they didn't have my size. So I "Binged that shit" (googled them) and found them on Gilt.com.
So flappery. So pretty. I figure that since I threw out a pair of shoes this week and lost a pair in my flood that it was ok to bring another pair into the house.
Now I need a proper flapper dress to go with these beaded beauties.
I'm not sure if this top really matches the rest of the outfit but it was nice and cool to wear on a hot day. I don't own very many blouses. I tend to buy dresses but when I do buy skirts I forget that I need something to wear on the top. I need to rectify that.

Weekly roundup - with pie!
I just got home from a lovely afternoon at a craft show and then having pie at Wanda's Pie in the Sky with Rachel the So-so Sewer. Despite the intermittent rain and awful humidity it was a great way to spend a Sunday. Now I am sitting on my new sofa getting caught up on the last few episodes of the last season of The Walking Dead so I thought I should post last week's outfits.
July 2
Cardigan: H&M (ugh)
Dress: Anthropologie (last worn here)
Belt: Value Village
Shoes: Fluevog Integrity | Amie in Neon Orange
After being so bright at the Pride parade I had to continue with the bright loud colours.
Orange and blue is my new favourite colour combination. It was a happy surprise that this belt I had matches this cardigan perfectly. Unfortunately, I bought this cardigan at H&M but I had to replace another blue sweater and this is the only one I could find in the summer. I know I'll wear it a lot though.
Have I mentioned that I love these shoes? They're currently on sale from Fluevog. I'm tempted to go and get another pair.
July 3
More orange and blue! My coworker said that this dress reminded her of the wallpaper from her childhood kitchen. I took it as a complement since I get that same vibe too.
Dress: Meg Shops "Prison Dress" on West Queen West
Shoes: Liebling (last worn here)
The best part about this dress, other than the print, are the pockets.
I would like a zillion dresses exactly like this in tonnes of patterns. I wish I could sew better. I'm sure there's a pattern out there for a simple shift dress like this. I have some cute fabric with polar bears on it that would be perfect for this type of dress.
I didn't intend to buy this dress. I was going to buy a different one but the sales woman convinced me to try this on for fun and I loved it. I loved the other one too but I couldn't afford both.
It's a nice match for my turquoise shoes too.
July 5
I forgot to take pictures on Thursday, probably because I wasn't happy with what I was wearing. I bought a "mullet dress" a few weeks ago and finally wore it but it has an elastic waist which drove me cuckoo all day.
So skipping to Friday...
Dress: Sweet Soul (last worn here)
Shoes: Fluevog Faiths Low | Reumah
(last worn here)
I love this dress despite the wrinkles mostly for its front pouch pocket.
I'm not sure I love these shoes though. I may put them in my consignment pile or try to sell them on the FlueMarket. They are already quite on sale on the Fluevog site though so someone might want to get them new rather than used.
I love the wooden heel but I'm not really a fan of the wedge shoe. Maybe I'll give them one more wear just to see how I feel about them.
What do you think? Should they stay or should they go?
Now that I have my couch and a place to blog I'll try to be more regular with my posts.

High saturation
Saturday has been pretty lovely so far, despite the fact that I haven't done much other than get a prescription renewed, return my refundables for money, reinflate my tires and take my friend out for breakfast because she's had a bad week. Oh, and I also went to Victoria's Secret to buy another bra in a style that I quite like.
Strangely I was the most dressed up person at the mall. Most people were wearing regular weekend jeans and sweaters but I also saw way to many sweatpants and uggs or flannel pajama bottoms and uggs. WHY?? WHY?
Cardigan: Pretty Things Boutique
Dress: Eshakti (last worn in my first post)
Tights: H&M
Boots: Fluevog Radios | ARD
(last worn here)
New hair - or really back to my old hair. The red seems much more visible now on the left side. I think that's because my bangs are a little thicker.
Off to have a nap and then out for dinner at a friend's house. Going to play some games. Fun!

Fab or Fug?
I think I'm falling out of love with this tunic. Or maybe it's just because it doesn't really work with this combination. The tunic is very stiff while the skirt is very soft and has a nice flow and drape.
Tunic: americanretro from Crimson and Clover (last worn here)
Skirt: H&M
Boots: bought in Las Vegas (last worn here)
I bought this skirt to wear to one of the Duran Duran shows that were cancelled. This is the first time I've worn it. It fits better now that I've lost about 10 lbs.
I think I know a top that would be better with this skirt so I'll give this sort of look another try.
All summer I looked for a maxi dress with a similar print on it as this skirt. I was unsuccessful so this skirt was a close second choice.
Tomorrow night my friend S and I are going to be partaking in Nocturne. Should be a fun night of art and culture (and probably alcohol).
Oh, I have a tattoo consultation later this month. After I got my cat/boot tattoo I said "no more". Clearly I don't listen to myself very closely.

I tried to sleep last night but I’ve caught your dreaming
I hesitate to post this photo because it's not great but I took about 15 shots and this is the best of the bunch. I look tired and that's because I am a bit. I didn't sleep very well last night and ended up getting up at my normal early time even though I had the day off. And then I ran around meeting with friends and having some very interesting conversations. It was a lovely day but I'm tired.
Nothing new here. These tights are becoming my go to item of choice.
Sweater: Pretty Things Boutique
T-shirt: Lilith in Paris
Skirt: ?
Tights: H&M
Shoes: Messeca (from Capezio in Toronto)
Hopefully I'll get some sleep and look less droopy-eyed the rest of the weekend.
Here's a song to start your weekend.

Signed with a home tattoo
I'm back home after my whirlwind trip to Toronto where I went to two museums, bought 3 pairs of shoes and got to spend a bit of time with my sister. I mostly had fun.
Here's one of the pairs of shoes I bought.
Necklace: Etsy
Dress: Modcloth (last worn here)
Belt: Le Chateau (for $0.99)
Leggings: H&M (last worn here)
Shoes: Fluevog Presence | Impel (in Cheetah)
The belt has a baroque-ish pattern on it.
Better look at the shoes.
These leggings are actually full length but I have tucked about 9" up underneath. I intend to shorten them at some point.

11th Hour Boots
ERMAGHERD RERD BERTS!
I found these boots at Crimson and Clover (mostly) Consignment Boutique today. They are Fluevog 11th Hour booties. If there's anything I love, it's buttony boots, especially red booties.
Cardigan: Pretty Things Boutique
Dress: anthropologie (last worn here)
Leggings: H&M
Shoes: Fluevog 11th Hour
This is a little rumpled - oh well.
I spend the day rummaging through Value Village, looking at old weird records, and strange t-shirts. Then I bought a really funky jacket at the Le Chateau Outlet store for $20.00. Then B and I went out for supper with his photo studio partner.
Did I mention the red Fluevog buttony booties?
So far, vacation is pretty good.

More than just color and shape
It has been very humid here in the big city so I've been sticking with lighter, natural fabrics and more voluminous clothing to try and keep cool.
Today it was less hot and humid so I risked wearing 100% man made fibres.
When I bought these shoes at Fluevog in Toronto, I guessed that they would go well with this dress.
Dress: H&M (last worn here)
Shoes: Fluevog Writes | Simone (now on sale)
Not a bad combination.
I have a coworker, originally from Egypt, who sometimes complements my outfits. Today he came to my office and said "Can I tell you that you look lovely in that dress?" Sweet man. =)
Back view of stripes.
That's all I got! Good night!
EDITED TO ADD:
Welcome Amber of Butane Anvil to the blogging world and to the exclusive club of bloggers who have posted photos of themselves under their desks!

These beautiful colours, infinite patterns so hard I see
After a few days with no bright colours I may have gone a little overboard today.
Dress: H&M (last worn here)
Shoes: Fluevog Miracles | Medugorje
With this amount of colour and all the stripes, I didn't bother with any accessories.
This is another pair of new shoes. I was appropriately chastised by my coworker. Bad Megan, BAD!
But look at them. They're so orange and shiny and perfectly shaped. They are the pump of my dreams.
Yes, I know that I just bought a pair of orange shoes two weeks ago but those were suede.
And I did take two pairs of shoes to the consignment store last week. Trying to implement a "one in, one out" rule.

One of three
This is one of the three outfits I wore yesterday. The changes were mostly weather based since it was cool in the morning, cooler in the evening, but in the middle of the day it was sunny and nice.
Sweater: H&M
T-shirt: Club Monaco
Skirt: ModCloth
Shoes: Vivienne Westwood Anglomania for Melissa
I had to run downtown to drop of some clothes at the consignment store and this skirt was originally in my "give up" pile. I had second thoughts so I thought I'd give it another try. I think I'll keep it now.
I think I was going to give it up because I remember it being shorter than this but since it's knee length I think I can get a lot of use out of it this summer.
While I was at the consignment store, I picked up some white/blue striped trousers for $30.00 which I'm looking forward to wearing as soon as possible.
I'm not usually a fan of heart shapes but I like this stylized version from Vivienne Westwood. I got them on sale a few weeks ago from Ginza Queen and it hasn't been close to warm enough to wear them until yesterday, at least for a few hours.
Time for a pedicure!
OH, and a big SHOUT OUT to Izzywizz in Norway, the latest to join the photo trend of "fashion bloggers under their desks". =)

Yellow....and chickens
I know today is Thursday but this is Wednesday's outfit.
Yesterday was a very weird day. It started out normal enough - I got up and went to work - but I left work early because I was traveling about 3 hours to a city in a neighbouring province for a meeting that was held today. And that's when things got a little weird.
First, let's set the stage by showing you my outfit.
Necklace: gift from husband from China
Blouse: Vintage Givenchy from etsy
Jeans: H&M
Boots: Fluevog Operetta | Mirella
Pretty bright, eh?
Yes, I was wearing jeans on a Wednesday, something I normally wouldn't do but I knew I was going to be sitting in a car for 3 hours so I wanted to be comfortable. It turned out to be a good choice.
I was hitching a ride with a colleague, B, who was going to the same meeting and when he came to pick me up he said he had to make a stop at his house before we got on the road.
He lives about 30 minutes outside the city and his neighbour had phoned to say that one of his chickens had gotten loose and a dog was chasing after it and had possibly injured it.
When we got to his place he asked if I could help hunt down the chicken. He moved toward his neighbour's deck since the chicken was last seen heading that direction so I went to check out the coop.
That's when we discovered a hole in the chicken wire and two other chickens were loose. The first was caught quite quickly but the other ran into a group of trees and bushes.
So here I was, running around in $500 boots and a Givenchy blouse, flushing a chicken out of the brush and trying to herd it toward B so he could put it back into the coop, saying "here, chicky chicky chicky..bawk bawk"...
We successfully rescued the two chickens we could find and then searched around his yard and his neighbour's yard to find the last and possibly injured chicken. We had to give up though.
Then we drove to our hotel where our meeting was being held, which wasn't even in the city so there was nothing to do other than sit in the bar. I had a beer, a glass of wine and 4 martinis. This was a very bad decision on my part. Definitely not one of my shining moments of intelligence.
Luckily my meeting which was supposed to go until 4:30 ended at 1:30. Sitting in a meeting with a hangover is challenging.
I didn't get a photo of today's outfit because I couldn't find a place where I could sneakily set up my camera.
So glad tomorrow is Friday.
Oh, the missing chicken was found, safe and sound, uninjured. Lucky chicken.
