New In My Closet Lately

Cat Print Pumps- Mr.Price/Mint and White Pumps-Cotton On
All these summery items are making me long for summer even more! I'm getting so excited seeing all the new summer ranges being launched. And even more exciting is that most contain my favourite thing at the moment-pastels! I just love the colours:) I got so excited when I saw these mint pumps from Cotton On, they remind me of the 50's, I just love the two colours combined! And the cat printed pumps are just so adorable, love them!
Pastel Necklace and Pink Collar Necklace-Mr.Price/ Rose Gold Cuff and Pastel Bracelets-Sass Diva
I also seem to be going a little accessory mad, I love accessorizing simple outfits with jewellery- and these pieces are definitely going to be making a whole bunch of appearances:)
The peplum t's are so sweet, can't wait to wear them!
 Peplum T's and Floral Skinnies-Mr.Price

Men's denim Shirt and Floral Shorts-Mr.Price
And finally I spotted this men's denim shirt in Mr.Price and I just fell in love with it, even though it's a bigger fit- I adore the print! These floral shorts are also so cute, and I love the lace peplum top:)
The pastel tee is the perfect casual top, it's so soft and comfortable!

Have an amazing weekend everyone!!

I must have flowers in my brain

Today was a red kind of day - but to me everyday is a red kind of day.

Jacket: Le Chateau
Shirt: Joe Fresh
Tie: from another blouse
Skirt: eShakti (last worn here preblog)
Shoes: Fluevog Together Hi | Benatar (last worn here)

We were having a baby shower at work today since two of my coworkers are having babies in the next two months. I brought a salad and I almost covered my entire outfit in salad dressing. Fortunately I saved this skirt from certain death by Newman's Own Oil and Vinegar.

What's not to love about this skirt? Knee length? CHECK
Pockets? CHECK
Gold flowers? CHECK
Bright Colour? CHECK!!

I get quite a few complements when I wear this skirt.

Adding this tartan tie was a last minute decision and I'm not sure if it was a good addition or not.

And of course super fun Fluevogs.

Yesterday, someone asked if I could show some photos of my tattoos so here they are.

I didn't get my first tattoo until I was 35 and it was just a small tattoo that says k∞tog (knit infinity together). Everyone thinks it says koofog or kootog because it wasn't done very well.

My second tattoo I got in 2008 when I was 37.  It's a mouse knitting a sock which is a picture I found on a necklace that I bought on etsy.

This is on the underside of my right forearm.

Then in 2009 my friend's boyfriend designed this tattoo for me.

I love animals and birds so here we have a crow, mouse and squirrel sitting on a branch. This needs some touch ups but it's fine for now.

Then in 2011 I made an appointment to see Sunny Buick in Paris to get a tattoo. I was going to be there on vacation and having seen her work on other people I knew it would be a worthwhile venture.  I had asked her to design something with a vintage shoe and a cat. This is one of the designs that she proposed. I love it and after she actually tattooed it in colour I was pretty blown away.

I tell people that the "f" design on the boot is for "France" but if you know anything about me you'll know it really stands for "Fluevog".

After I got this last one, which hurt almost more than I could stand, I said I'd never get another one, but I'm feeling the itch again.

Most people don't comment on my tattoos but I do get the odd question. Usually the same questions that all tattooed people get like "did it hurt?" (yes), "what do your parents think?" (they hate them but I'm 41 so tough luck), "what will you do when you're old?" (I'll be one of many people tattooed when I'm old since most people I know have at least one).  Today I saw this video of a school teacher doing a monologue about her tattoos. It's worth sharing....

Too bad you're so beautiful and so complicated

Today was all about the colour and this 1950ish dress. I felt pretty all day.

Necklace: from China - gift from my husband
Cardigan: Smart Set
Dress: Heartbreaker from Pretty Things Boutique
Belt: Smart Set
Shoes: Fluevog Pin Ups | Miss April (last worn here)

Apparently the last time I wore this dress was pre-blog. I thought I wore it more frequently than that!

The belt I'm wearing doesn't really match but it kind of goes with the greenish-yellow hue in the dress pattern.

This is the dress I was wearing when I got my cat/boot tattoo in Paris. I remember feeling very uncomfortable - not because the tattoo hurt (it did) - but because Parisian woman don't wear this much colour. They tend to wear a lot of grey, black and beige so I stood out like a crazy woman.

Pro tip: If you're going to get a tattoo, make sure you wear something that won't end up touching the area that was tattooed - like a sleeveless dress. It also helps if you wear something that makes you feel fabulous so you're able to endure the pain.

Pretty pin-ups! I didn't think I owned any orange shoes but apparently I now have 4 pairs. Whoops.

Bye Bye Cardigan

Back to work today. Usually the summer is a quieter time in the office what with a lot of people on vacation, but the lull hasn't arrived yet. No one is on vacation yet! I'm not taking time off until the end of August which seems like forever from now.

Another hot day today so I just threw on this cotton sleeveless dress.

Dress: No Tag from Crimson and Clover (last worn here)
Shoes: Marc (last worn here)

We had a little reception at the end of the day and I ate two scones with jam so I'm totally stuffed here. My belleh was so full. UGH.

I was looking back at my daily photos and I stand the exact same way every in every shot so I tried something different - I turned the other direction - however, I also bugged my eyes out of my head. I need to stay in my comfort zone.

My legs are glowing in their incredible whiteness.

The last two times I wore this cardigan I said that it was on its last legs and needed to be replaced. Obviously I haven't done that yet. Seeing this photo, I'm definitely parting with it asap.

Bye bye cardigan!

OOTD- Amber Jones Cape

Cape- Amber Jones for Mr.Price/Jeans-Edgars/Boots- Hunter/ Bag- Steve Madden
As soon as I saw the new 'Amber Jones collection for Mr.Price' online, I knew immediately what pieces I loved! And I eagerly scoured the store until they arrived- this cape being one of them! (I also bought some cute peplum tees for summer, which I can't wait to wear) I just loved the fit, with the big button detail- and the cute tie belt. I also knew exactly what I wanted to wear it with: my  Hunter boots. I liked how the outfit turned out- and the cape was so warm, which is a big bonus:)

Have a lovely day everyone!!

Happy 145 Birthday Canada!

Happy Canada Day! Whooooo! Party!

Ok, not really. I went out for breakfast, did some laundry, had a nap, watched the Euro final (Oh Italy, so sad), and now B and I are cooking dinner. Pretty low key.

It was also another hot day.

I'll stop talking about the heat because Batman might slap me.

I wore my Canada Day dress and posed with my laundry.

Dress: thrifted (last worn here)
Cami: Joe Fresh
Shoes: Vivienne Westwood for Melissa (bought from GinzaQueen.com)

I had just woken up from my nap here so I was a little rumpled and sleepy.

I'm wearing the same shoes as yesterday because it was really to warm (SLAP) to wear anything other than flip flops.

Speaking of these shoes, Forest City Fashionista was wearing the same shoes today.  They'd only be more perfect if the hearts were maple leaves.

Off to eat my dinner. I hope everyone has had a nice start to July.

Brown Blazers And Leopard Print

Blazer And Pumps-Mr.Price/Scarf And Cuff-Woolworths/Bag-Steve Madden
I've been on the look out for a brown blazer for so long now, and when I saw this one I instantly fell in love with the colour! It's such a warm tan colour, and the fit is great too! I can't wait to wear it in summer as well.
I also loved how the colour seemed to pop when I added the leopard print scarf. I paired it with my nude ballet pumps, and a simple gold and black cuff :)

Have an amazing week everyone!!
